I adore books. I love chocolate.
I respect the power of words.
My name is Elizabeth Weiss and I have been a professional freelance writer for over a decade. (Though you can Google “Elizabeth Weiss McGolerick” to find my bylines too.) My focus of late has been in digital content marketing. I write blogs and evergreen web content for cosmetic dentists, attorneys, security experts, private investigators, healthcare recruiters, an IT expert, and institutions of higher education. I develop web content for an internet marketing manager and website solutions provider.
You’ll find my juicy articles in men’s and women’s lifestyle magazines, as well as big-name financial, parenting, and culture publications, online and offline. I am versatile and able to compose copy on just about any topic. The writing I produce is creative, thorough, and of course, search engine optimized. After years in the writing biz, I am more than adept at social media management, navigating content management systems, and keyword writing.
Once upon a time, I worked as a trade book publicist and corporate marketer, writing press releases, email blasts, internal and external newsletters, and developing catalogs. That was fun – especially when books and chocolate were the perks – but freelance writing is better. Now, I have the opportunity to engage with a varied roster of clients and write about a wide range of subjects. Most of the time I can be found conducting research from my desk (or the kitchen table), but I once stood in scrubs for seven hours to observe a cosmetic surgeon at work so I could write about a woman’s face lift, neck lift, and liposuction. Dedication? You know it.
I earned an MFA in creative writing from George Mason University, a BA in English and communications from Saint Francis University, and studied English literature at Cambridge University. I am happily married and the proud mama of two precocious and hilarious children.
Why You Need Me
Good writing can catapult your business into new echelons. If you want to compete in your industry and stand out among your competitors, align yourself with a talented writer, whether she’s crafting blog posts, web content, e-books, or tweets. Businesses need a lot of cogs to make the wheel turn, but the most important element is an eloquent mouthpiece. If you aren’t presenting your goods or services through competent, creative writing, you’re doing your business a great disservice.
